Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Facility

The University of Pittsburgh/UPMC Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Facility operates and maintains an array of PET, PET/CT, and microPET/CT imaging instrumentation and dedicated research facilities available to support large and small animal preclinical research, including three scanner bays, two scanner control rooms, a data and image processing laboratory, and an animal surgery/radiometabolite analysis laboratory.  Although the primary emphasis of the research facilities is neuroimaging, a growing component of research in infectious diseases, oncology, and other systemic disorders continues to diversify its research efforts.
